Stone The Crows Three Twins Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
|Region||California, Napa Valley|
|Brand||Stone The Crows|
Made from a single clone, this wine delivers quiet explosions of clove, black currant and black pepper that flirt around a luxurious texture and unobtrusive oak, finding balance and integration amid plenty of complexity. Fully engaged and drinking nicely now, it'll stand up to further cellaring, through 2023.
Dense purple in color, this wine, made by Thomas Rivers Brown, displays loads of blueberry, black raspberry and cassis fruit, a touch of oak, and a big, full-bodied mouthfeel. Purity and richness are all present, but the wine has very high levels of tannin and needs cellaring for probably several years prior to consumption. There are 313 cases, making it limited, but it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 80% new French oak. Natural alcohol was 14.9%, normal for a 2013. This should evolve for up to 20+ years.
